Project Description

In an environment where educational policy makers tend to reduce teaching to a reproduction of facts and formulas, and teaching methods to a superficial and isolated transfer of information, there isn’t enough space for encouraging curiosity and developing critical thinking among students. In response to this CREAT-IT project was designed, with its main objective being raising awareness among teachers about the possibilities of modern pedagogical practices. The project has three main educational modules which follow the inquiry-based science education (IBSE) concept – Write a Science Opera, Science Theatre and Junior Science Café.

Managing the Work Package 6 (WP6), the Centre for the Promotion of Science led a systematic evaluation of the proposed pedagogical framework, teaching modules and supporting materials. Evaluation activities included quantitative and qualitative testing of participants of CREAT-IT workshops organised during the entire implementation of the project.
