Project Description:<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Using climate data in an effective and timely manner is fundamental for achieving a green recovery and creating a resilient and climate-neutral Europe, as a response to the current situation caused by climate change. Climate services allow us to use climate data for informed decision making, in order to reduce certain risks and take advantage of opportunities, all with the aim of better adaptation to climate change. In recent years, the need for climate data has grown dramatically, and the market for climate services is developing at a rapid pace; indeed, it is expected to grow even more in the future. Actors involved in the development and use of climate services are often unaware of the existence of other actors in this area, along with a lack of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary knowledge. On the other hand, quality assurance, as well as relevant standards for the creation and use of climate services are not yet sufficiently developed. In this context, the Climateurope2 project aims to develop procedures for the standardisation of climate services, support the development of the community of users of climate services and encourage the use of climate services to achieve better adaptation to climate change in Europe and beyond.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Role of CPN<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The Center for the Promotion of Science leads WP6 of the project, under which all partners work towards creating a European community of users of climate services. All planned activities aim at networking and direct engagement of the community to establish standardisation procedures, openness and availability of climate services and related research results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Center also organises public programmes dedicated to climate research in 10 countries of South-East Europe, as an innovative approach to expanding the community of users of climate services in this currently underrepresented European region. Among other things, the programme will present interdisciplinary projects linking art and science, which will be created through public calls for the collaboration of artists and scientists in this domain.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
